The Tahiti Exchange is an annual language and cultural exchange between New Zealand and French Polynesia that has taken place every year since 1965. Tahitian pupils come here (the inbound exchange) and stay with NZ families for a month in July (the inbound exchange) and NZ pupils go to French Polynesia in January (the outbound exchange) and stay with Tahitian families.

The aim is to improve your French and it certainly does that, but it is also an exciting cultural experience in a beautiful tropical country.

The Tahiti end is organised by Fapelec, a federation of parent-teacher associations, and in NZ the exchange is run by educators and supported by the France-New Zealand Friendship Fund.
